All of the seadoo's with the exception of the 951 do not use a head gasket they use o-rings so you can not buy a thicker head gasket. The typical cause of compression variances during a rebuild is caused by not checking the squish clearance. This is adjusted with thicker or thinner cylinder base gaskets not the head gasket. In my opinion the 98 speedster is the best jet boat sea doo has made. It has the perfect amount of power. The seating arrangemebt is perfect. I owned one for 4 seasons. It was an absolute blast. Never had a single mechanical problem really. The 787 motors are very tough. With 2 of them, that boat is a beast.
